The Titleist Vokey Spin Milled
Nickel/original Wedges as with all of
the new 2009 range offer increased
spin and contol around the green
and are an improvement this year in
the control department.
So even if you do
not play courses with small greens
the Titleist Vokey Spin Miilled Nickel
Wedge will perform well and help
lower your scores.
The range this year
from Titleist starts at 48 degrees
going to 60 degrees in this model
and provides options not only in loft,
but in bounce as well.
Why bounce in a wedge
and how much? As a broad
option if you play on a parkland
course then you should look towards
a wedge with more bounce, as this
design is suitable for longer
grass. Where the
less bounce option is more suitable
for tight fairways such as links
courses. If
you play both courses then either a
mid bounce option of exchanging
your wedges in you bag maybe an
idea.
The classic design is
still here in the 2009 version of the
Vokey Wedge range and Bob Vokey
has kept with his traditional design,
which are pleasing to the eye.
So it no surprise to find out
that the Vokey wedge is the most
played wedge on the PGA
tour.
Vokey Spin Milled
wedges feature a CNC machine cut
face and grooves. A special circular
saw style cutting tool is used to
create precise grooves with a
steeper draft angle and a tighter
edge radius for increased friction.
Vokey Spin Milled wedges have 30%
more groove volume than a
conventional wedge. This provides
more consistent and higher spin,
particularly from grassy lies and wet
conditions.
Why not treat
yourself to a tighter short game with
the Vokey Wedge.
